From a Mortal Point of View
Life, death, and the things that truly matter. How they shape who we are and how we live.
Why poetry?
Poetry is love, hate, sadness, disappointment, and pain.
It is the way of putting those feelings into words,
out of your head and your heart,
so that others can understand them.
Sharing poetry is sharing all those feelings.
What about death?
Death is inevitable, and death is acceptable.
Death is that thing that keeps us alive;
it’s what gives us energy and puts our bodies in motion.
Are you afraid?
Fear is not bad!
It is only bad when fear remains fear,
and the fearless remain frightened.
Do you long for kindness?
Kindness—you experience it, but before knowing kindness,
you flirt with cruelty and meet rejection.
That makes you know kindness better.
You know, just like happiness:
The more you give, the more you have left.
Have you met discouragement?
People discouraging you are like barbed wire;
you go through them carefully,
knowing you’ll get scratches.
Their words are like bullets,
but your mind is a bunker.
I want to know about life.
About life?!
Hmm…
You should be afraid!
If you’ve never been born, you will never live;
you will never die.
Life puts you on a road and doesn’t give you a map.
It writes poetry, feeds your body;
it’s selfless and doesn’t care about us—just like fate.
Life asks you but does not stay to hear the answer.
She pushes you over every cliff,
takes every moment from you,
and never gives it back.
It goes in the same direction as time does.
Life makes you strong, and your weights heavier.
Life is time!
Life is beautiful!
Now, enjoy life.
Or stay dead forever.
Life is short, so share meaningful words.
